Where we stand on Ear Cropping
Years ago Miniature Schnauzers were used for vermin hunters in homes and farms.  They were the ideal dog
because they could catch larger vermin than a cat.  In fact, they were bred to hunt varment.  To prevent injury
to the Miniature Schnauzer their ears were cropped and tails docked.

Unlike many other breeders and clubs, Schnauzers Of PA believes that ear cropping is a thing of the past.
As our ideas get old and redundant, so is the neccessity to crop ears.  It is now simply a cosmetic attribute and
serves no ligitimate purpose.

We do not crop ears and suggest that those who are looking into getting your Miniature Schnauzer's ears cropped
please ask your vet, read and learn the procedure and how it is done.  Those that say it is not painful to the dog
possibly should have the procedure done on themselves.
